the Daily Star /ðə ˌdeɪli ˈstɑː(r)/ /ðə ˌdeɪli ˈstɑːr/ (also informal the Star) - one of Britain's daily tabloid newspapers. It was started in 1978 as a paper for the North but became a national newspaper the following year. It mainly has articles about famous people, entertainment and sport.
